State and local law enforcement crime laboratories across the U.S. rely on Signature Science’s accredited DNA casework laboratories to provide high-quality analysis on time, every time. Accreditation Certificate and Accreditation Scope.
Mixture Resolution
Through probabilistic genotyping with STRmix™, we can unlock new possibilities from samples containing complex mixtures. This advancement has the potential to help you obtain a profile from samples previously deemed too complex or previously reported as “inconclusive.”

Serological Testing
Signature Science analysts receive crime scene evidence to screen for bodily fluids (e.g., blood and semen) and pinpoint the piece(s) of evidence most likely to return a probative DNA profile. Tools and methods used include:
• Alternate Light Source
• Phenolphthalein Presumptive Chemical Test
• Acid Phosphatase and P30 Antigen Test
• Christmas Tree Stain Confirmatory Test
Male Screening and Stop-at-Quant Testing
This testing method is used to detect presence of male DNA in a sample by analyzing markers on the Y chromosome. This method can deliver preliminary analysis of evidence to prioritize cases where further investigation is needed. Where no male DNA is detected, Signature Science will stop analysis, making Male Screening a more cost-effective first step in evidence exploitation than traditional DNA analysis methods.
