The bioinformatics team at Signature Science’s Center for Advanced Genomics (CAG) develops tailored workflow tools and solutions to achieve automation objectives for forensic laboratory operations. Solutions developed may include both the application of existing tools and the creation of new tools to support data analyses and report automation. All solutions are robust and implemented without interruption to laboratory operations. Some of our robust bioinformatics tools are published as open source scientific computing software and are broadly used in the forensic community.

The CAG developed a containerized open source tool for converting Kintelligence targeted sequencing data to VCF files to enable the use of a wider, pre-existing infrastructure for genetic data manipulation and analysis. Read paper.
